Location: Mountain Rest / Walhalla, Oconee County, SC. There are signs…easy to find parking lot.
Distance: 3 miles
Pet friendly: Yes
Pay off: Yes. Beautiful walk through forest with tall waterfall at the end. Will be mind-blowing after rain.
I have a checklist of all the waterfalls I want to see in SC. I was driving back to Greenville for dinner after a hike with Cassie and Stephen when I saw the sign for Yellow Branch falls. I decided the detour was totally necessary. There was a tiny parking lot and a map. The trail was easy enough to find and I was off.
The trail is well maintained.
You only have to go up and down a few easy hills…if it gets a little steep, the trail turns to stairs.
The walk through the forest was quiet and pretty. I imagine this hike to be mind blowing right as the leaves turn.
I was by myself and working on my solo photography. I am hoping to get an actual camera this year so I can take my pictures to the next level.
This hike is totally worth the detour.
On the way home, I stopped in Greenville. I was craving tacos and google told me the best ones were Willy Tacos. They totally were. I sat at the bar and the bartenders kept me entertained. The house margarita was delicious (how I judge margaritas…if you can cover the basics…everything else will be amazing. Dinner was awesome.
Worth the stop. Come hungry. The queso will rock your world.
Adventure on my friends.
